Design Process

FIRST Your Wants, Your Needs: In order to fully assess your requirements you will fill out a Project Survey. You'll talk about what you've heard, what you believe, what's important to you.
NEXTOur Conversation: We'll chat. I'll tell you how I can or can not help you achieve your specific goals. I may help you CHANGE your goals to be more effective. You will reveal how much you're willing to spend and how much value you're looking for in your end result. Should its impact last a long time? Is it a trendy burst of energy? Do you just want some pretty artwork to hang on your wall? You'll find out what you can expect based on different timeframes, quality expectations, and price points. As they say, you get to choose two: price, speed, and/or quality.
THEN A Plan, A Price: A starter plan will be given to you, along with an estimate for said work and timeframe. You'll also hear about timelines and a quotation based on the proposal.
AND Your Signature: You can accept the estimate/proposal via email or letter. Nothing will be done until you've signed on the dotted line!
SO Gimme Content!: Your turn to gather all of the content required for your project. Logos, camera shoot photos, business guidelines, magazine specs, color schemes, copy for all pages, contact information, and graphics. The content needs to be complete and correct (meaning YOU must agree it's been checked for grammatical, spelling and typographical errors). Waiting on content means waiting on your project. And if Melanie had to write for you (which she can and will), you'll be charged more money for that service! If she starts on the design work and you change your content (or mind) later, you'll be charged for your lack of promptness, as well. So just get it all together, already!
THEN The Concept and the Go Ahead: Time for you to see the first stab at layout and/or general concept. You'll read anything Melanie has beenb paid to write for you and give feedback. Once we have agreed on the design and writing, true "getting the hands dirty" time will begin.
NEXT Design Refinement and File Construction: All the actual graphics, coding, file setup and other technical details happen here. The project will be continued based on previoous step agreements.
FINALLY Evaluation: Your turn to check through everything we've checked through. What do you think and why?
AND SO The Files or the Production or the End: Once the project has been given your final seal of approval, you can have your final site launched ot your logo or your working files (if you bought them) and/or it's time for Melanie's part in your journey to end!.
